Vitality Accounting and Consultancy Inc. today, April 9 2021 presented a cheque valued $1,062,300 to the Human Services Minister to assist Ernesta Lara, a mother of six rebuild her home in Matthews Ridge, North West District, Region 1, which collapsed last year due to high winds.
The generous donation was handed over to Hon Dr. Vindhya Persaud by Abbas Hamid, a Director of Vitality Inc.
Vitality Inc, a US based company owned by Guyanese entrepreneurs, has been operating in Guyana over ten years and specialises in accounting, medical supplies, oil and gas and housing services.
Minster Persaud praised Vitality Inc for its philanthropic and humanitarian efforts. She revealed that the Ministry is overwhelmed with numerous requests for assistance, and with Vitality’s contribution – a vulnerable mother will soon have her home rebuilt.
“Your donation is extremely appreciated and will be helping a single parent mother who has six children, one of whom is disabled. I am optimistic that with Vitality Inc donating to such a worthy cause, other companies will be encouraged to partner with us to help the most vulnerable in need,” Minister Persaud stated.
In response, Mr. Hamid, stated Vitality Inc is committed to “giving back to our country especially in the social services sector”. He further added the Company will continue to collaborate with the Ministry to improve the quality of lives of the vulnerable. Ms. Lara’s plight came to light when a representative from the Region’s Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) contacted the Ministry for assistance. The money received will cover the materials needed and labour to rebuild the home.
