US Deputy Secretary of Commerce meet President Ali and delegation

President Irfaan Ali and US Deputy Secretary of Commerce, Don Graves held fruitful discussions today (Monday) in Washington DC.

it was disclosed that Deputy Secretary Greaves committed support to the Guyana Government in the areas of banking, finance, and tourism as well as US private sector investment into Guyana.
Ali has committed to working closely with the Department of Commerce and other US agencies to facilitate US private sector investment in Guyana.

It was revealed that both parties agreed to work closely to advance this agenda.
As such, the President and a delegation including the Vice President, Dr Bharrat Jagdeo, Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Hugh Todd, and Foreign Secretary, Robert Persaud are in Washington for a series of high-level engagements.

It was disclosed that at the invitation of the US Government, the delegation will be meeting with high-ranking US Government officials, including the Secretary of State and leaders of Congress and the Senate. These meetings are geared to discuss a range of issues to further deepen bilateral relations between Guyana and the United States.

The Guyanese Head of State will also be speaking at several events while in the US.
