The Ministry of Housing and Water – Central Housing and Planning Authority will be hosting its ‘Dream Realised’ housing initiative in Region Two at the weekend.
The event, which is set to be held on Friday and Saturday at the Anna Regina Municipality tarmac, will see some 350 people receiving house lots and titles.
Minister Hon. Collin Croal has said all gazetted COVID-19 Measures would be observed at the event. He told DPI on Tuesday that representatives from the Ministry of Health and the National COVID-19 Task Force would be present to enforce the guidelines.
“We have strengthened our enforcement team to help to ensure the systems are followed to have persons be tended to in an orderly manner and in a timely manner, and that is why we are having the allocation exercise over two days,” he said.
To further ensure public safety, the Minister said the beneficiaries were contacted and informed which day they would be served.
“The persons we will be seeing per queue will be allowed into the compound so we will only be taking a small number in at any one time and that is to ensure there is the necessary social distancing in keeping with our guidelines for Covid,” he added.
Dream Realised would be held from 9:00am to 4:00pm both days. Beneficiaries will be allocated land in Onderneeming Phase Four.
The Ministry would also be returning in early May for allocations in the Charity area. The aim is to allocate over 700 house lots to residents on the Essequibo Coast. The PPP/C Administration plans to award some 10,000 lots during itss first year in office.
