RHO refuses to disclose if medical items were delivered despite promises to do so

Regional Health Officer (RHO) Dr. Gregory Harris

The Regional Health Officer (RHO) of Region Ten, Dr Gregory Harris, continues to refuse to
disclose if items that were bought for his sector have been delivered. Harris who had served as
Regional Councillor from 2015 to 2020 was approached by this media house,
www.aroundtheregions.com, for a comment whether the bed sheets, which were contracted out
to a current Regional Councillor, Eleze Benjamin-Hall were delivered.
Benjamin-Hall has been embroiled in several allegations with many claiming it as acts of
corruption. This media house secured evidence of her being granted five million dollars
of weeding contract. This contract was issued by the former Regional Executive Office, Orrin
Gordon and endorsed by the former Regional Chairman, Rennis Morian with several sources
confirming that he had reportedly had a part to play in the granting of the contract.
Benjamin-Hall's sister, Esther Benjamin was one of the main players in the execution of the
contract.  Benjamin-Hall currently sits on several Committees of the RDC.
www.aroundtheregios.com had sought to investigate this matter considering that the contractor
had claimed that she had delivered the sixty bed sheets, which was slated for the Quarantine
Centre. Raising eyebrows was the manner in how Benjamin-Hall had made the disclosure.
Minutes coming out of a Regional Health and Emergency Committee (RHEC) meeting had
reported in the minutes that Benjamin-Hall had stated after the conclusion of one of the meetings
that she had completed the sheets and will deliver it to the Linden Foundation Secondary school
dorms that was slated to be used as a quarantine centre. This raised several eyebrows as many
questioned why she made the disclosure after the conclusion of the meeting and not during the
meeting. “She (Benjamin-Hall) thinks that people are stupid as why would she make the
disclosure after the meeting instead of during the meeting. This certainly smells very fishy,” a
regional source said.

Regional Councillor Eleze Benjamin-Hall

The source added, “Eleze claims to have completed the bed sheets and promised that it will be
delivered soon, but there is no evidence of such being done. There are more questions than
answers and importantly persons must be cognizant of what they are doing.”
This media house learnt that the contract for the bed sheets were issued while Dr Pansy
Armstrong served as Regional Health Officer (RHO). When this media house reached out to the
RHO, Dr Harris, he promised to give an update on the situation
Harris admitted to having some knowledge about the situation but promised to investigate. “I
heard about it and I will certainly have to do my own investigation to ascertain if what is being
said is true,” Dr Harris said.
In an interview conducted via facebook messenger, the RHO promised to get back to this
reporter. He was asked if his sector had received the sixty bed sheets and if so, if the bed sheets
are being used. “I will have to check,” the RHO said.

Despite several attempts to reach out to RHO Harris, he continues to refuse to address the matter,
promising to address the matter the following day. The RHO had made the promise of getting
back to this reporter since October 20 on the issue.
Meanwhile, a few days ago after this reporter reached out to the RHO indicating that the story
will be carried irrespective of if he provides an answer or not the RHO stated that he will do so
the following day, yet again this has not be forthcoming as this this media house sees his stalling
of providing critically important information as a deliberate attempt to hide any questionable
transaction and or situation involving persons providing services to his sector.
