‘Rennis Morian Has Outlived His Usefulness, Irrelevant To People And Party’ – Senior Party Officials

“Regional Chairman Rennis Morian has outlived his usefulness and is irrelevant to the people and party of his region,” this was the firm view expressed by a senior APNU/AFC official. The official who is on tape spoke to this media house exclusively said that Rennis Morian who is not on the party’s 2020 election list continues to occupy the office of Regional Chairman despite the fact that the party has identified someone else who is expected to take up the seat.
“He only has a week more and is operating as if he will be there for a very long time but we are grateful for the past five years as we have seen the depth of Morian’s deceitfulness, dishonesty and penchant for creating problems within the region,” the official said.

There are many speculations that because of the Regional chairman’s arrogance and boastful attitude it helped in the party losing the 2020 elections. Many complained that his behaviour and dictatorial approach to many issues continues to beg the question as to what his true agenda is. He issued many threats and boasted about how he turned many senior government officials and public officials away from the region. He was even on tape boasting how he instructed the minister and the Police Commissioner to move and evict persons entering the region and or those that he has an issue with.
“This man operates like a typical lunatic and we are happy that the region is freeing itself from this weight and travesty of justice that we inherited in 2015. Hopefully moving ahead, we will see better leadership from all fronts as the party seeks to regroup and unite to take the regions of government in 2025. This Regional Chairman helped us to lose as when the party and its ranks needed to be united, he created and stirred up several problems that continue to plague us,” the senior party official said.

The official noted that there have been recordings of the Regional Chairman instructing the Deputy Regional Police Commander to arrest party officials who had organized protests marches in the region while planning with the very party officials to confront the present administration. “This man certainly played it both ways giving the PPP/C the impression that he is all-inclusive, while behind our backs he plotted and planned many schemes, which are now coming to light.

Some party officials are pressing for the holder of the voice recording to release it, stressing that it should be made public so that the world will know the depth of the Regional Chairman who once served as a pastor.
Several persons are requesting that the party parts ways with the Regional Chairman who is expected to demit office in the coming days. However, while there are some calling for him to be axed there are some who is of the firm view that his tenure as Regional Chairman was one that was useful and benefitted the region in many ways. “There is no doubt that the Regional Chairman has certain qualities that may not benefit all from the party, but we are of the view that he served and served somewhat well and for that, we remain thankful. However, it is no secret that many continue to question his manner and style of leadership. “It is well known that if the Regional Chairman is not in support of someone, he becomes uncomfortable about them being around,” a close acquittance of the Regional Chairman said.
