As concerns continues t grow in Region Ten over it s increasing number of persons contacting
the deadly CIVID 19- virus , the region has registered one of two deaths nationally.
www.aroundtheregions.com learnt about this through a press release issued by the Ministry of
Health this afternoon. The Release confirmed the deaths of two elderly men who had tested
positive for COVID-19, taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic in Guyana to 166.
The Region Ten (Upper Demerara- Berbice) man is an 85-year-old, while the other man is a 70-
year-old from Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), they both died while in state care according
to the release.
The ministry went on to stress to the general public the importance for them to observe the
protocols of the COVID-19 Emergency Measures (No.12), which are in effect. It reiterated the
need for correct and consistent use of a face mask when leaving home, the importance of
maintaining the six feet physical distance from others, and the need for good hand-hygiene to
help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The release also urged that if anyone is displaying any of the symptoms associated with COVID-
