COMPLAINTS OF VOTER FRAUD in Constituency One ahead of Friday’s general elections must be investigated demanded St Kitts Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) representative Geoffrey Hanley.
Hanley revealed a party representative unearthed attempts at padding the voters list by the ruling coalition People’s Labour Party of incumbent Prime Minister, Timothy Harris.
“After it was brought to my attention, I called the Supervisor of Elections and I had a firm conversation with him. I am saying tonight to all the workers in the electoral office, don’t allow them to make you do things that are wrong. Ask them to put it in writing or give you a directive, otherwise you too can find yourself in trouble,” Hanley warned.
The rookie legislator is defending the constituency he won in the 2020 polls
According to Hanley’s complaints, the ruling PLP attempted to added the identical five illegal names added to Constituency One list of voters, but his party is maintaining its usual vigilance.
“What I said to him (Supervisor of Elections) I am going to say in this public meeting: those five names…will not appear on any list in East Basseterre. If they try to do it, comrades…after taking Government, I will take them to court. I hope they have their $30,000.00(EC) or six months in prison because the law is clear when it comes to that,” he reminded.
It is not yet clear whether PLP has been successful with such skullduggery in other constituencies.
Under the Timothy Harris seven-year regime “our beloved country has sunk to the lowest, lurching from one embarrassing crisis to another,” the SKNLP legislator noted.
By sector, “our education system is in tatters. Our healthcare system has gone to the dogs and young people are afraid at this time to start families because they are no affordable houses for them,” Hanley complained.
“Our water supply is unreliable; our roads are a mess. Just the other day a resident told me from Frigate Bay that he had to put his brand-new vehicle in the shop after it landed in craters on his way home. But that isn’t all, last month a $20M (EC) house over at the Peninsular was completely destroyed by fire because they were not adequate water,” Hanley detailed.
According to Hanley, the uncaring, corrupt Harris regime has driven the country to its knees by poor policies, its culture of greed and bad governance.
Basseterre will see the back of Team Unity’s PLP government after August 5th polls, Hanley predicted.

“The outgoing government was never concerned about your health care, your education, providing jobs or ensuring that the resources are in place for education. Worst of all they never give a damn about your water. Anyone with a half brain know that water is life, yet those uncaring bunch see no problem with the building at the Basseterre High School on the aqua farm.”
“This is a protected area by law (that) is why I said to you that any contracts dealing with the Basseterre High School will be reviewed. Anything that is illegal we will review them because jail in that, and a word to the wise is enough,” he cautioned.
Hanley recalled being singled out by PM Harris’ administration for special victimisation during its seven-year reign.
“They tried punishing me as SKNLP supporter. But look how I turned that school around. They were shocked as the school under this very government, that sought to punish me, has been used as a model by the Permanent Secretary (PS) Education (who) has dubbed it as the number one school in the Federation.”
“I am committed to bringing all of our schools up to that standard,” when the SKNLP forms the next government, Hanley assured.
