He promised to adopt several traits of the outgoing Regional Chairman, who he credited for keeping politics out of the boardroom. This, he stressed was responsible for the outgoing Regional Chairman’s excellent ability to conduct meetings at a professional level.
“I wish to acknowledge the work of the outgoing Regional Chairman. Mr Rennis Morian provided the Council with direction and leadership over the past 5 years. He handled all issues with diplomacy and candour. (frank/open). He kept the meetings and discussions on time and on task and was effective at keeping politics out of the boardroom. These traits I intend to continue during my term,” Adams said.
He continued, “Mr Morian’s involvement in, and commitment to the RDC over the past five years has been outstanding”.
The new Regional Chairman in recognizing the work and contributions of Rennis Morian spoke about the numerous relationships that he was able to build, while also enhancing the growth and development of the Region in a more holistic manner.
He said that while several of his predecessors including Mortimer Mingo had set the foundation for him, it was the contributions of Rennis Morian who he is taking over from that helped to cement the foundation that he will seek to build upon. He noted that his style of leadership will see him building similar relationships with various stakeholders within the region including political, religious, youth among others.
This, he stressed is very pivotal in being able to be a Regional Chairman that can deliver the goods that he has promised to the people, who he credited for placing their trust and confidence in his ability to assume such a prestigious position, in what he has dubbed as a very respected institution.
