More road improvements in Region Two

A view of the Golden Fleece Estate Access Road

Some 800 residents of Golden Fleece Estate in Pomeroon/Supenaam (Region Two) now enjoy
ease of travelling on their $30M, 600-metre-long asphaltic access road, according to Regional
Vice-Chairman, Humace Oudit.

Oudit told the Department of Public Information (DPI) that the Public Works Ministry
completed rehabilitating the dilapidated public thoroughfare in six months.

“The Regional Administration has been working tirelessly to address all road issues in the region
especially those that were neglected for many years, while the Public Works Ministry is
undertaking the rehabilitation works, we will be monitoring the works to ensure quality is
provided,” Mr. Oudit said.
He said similar works will be conducted at Good Hope, Cullen, Affiance, Anna Regina and
Cotton Field. Other infrastructural works will include construction of bridges at Charity, Lima
Housing Scheme, Jib, Affiance and Anna Regina.

Public Works Minister, Juan Edghill, has already commissioned seven roads in the region in the
year, reminding residents everywhere he went, that while all communities have issues with
roads, the Irfaan Ali government is committed to improving the lives of its people through
modernised infrastructure.
Upgrades would be undertaken on highways, main roads and miscellaneous thoroughfares
countrywide. Minister Edghill promised.
