CEO, Dr. Marcel Hutson handing over the items to Ms. Osborne today
Today, the Chief Education Officer, Dr. Marcel Hutson on behalf of the Honourable Minister of Education Priya Manickchand and staff of the Ministry met with Ms. Johan Osborne, the Queen’s College teacher whose home was recently destroyed by fire.
Dr. Hutson presented Ms. Osborne with a new laptop computer along with a monetary donation to be used for whatever immediate needs Ms. Osborne and her family will have at this time.
Dr. Hutson said that though the contribution cannot replace what was lost, it is a stepping stone towards rebuilding. He said that the gesture is in keeping with the Ministry of Education’s culture of empathizing with its partners and stakeholders not just with words but with actions.
He encouraged Ms. Osborne not to lose hope and that the staff of the Ministry will keep her in their prayers. The hand over was held at the St. Rose’s High School where Ms. Osborne’s son is a student.
