LHC locks out unvaccinated nurses

Several Nurses that were locked out

AUTHORITIES OF THE LINDEN HOSPITAL COMPLEX (LHC) LOCKED OUT a
large number of nurses Tuesday after they failed to produce proof of inoculation against the
COVID-19 deadly pandemic.
The LHC decision caught the unvaccinated nurses off guard today, and according to well-placed
sources in the bauxite-mining community, the healthcare workers were mandated to take the jab
by this weekend or risk dismissal.
It was a security guard who relayed the LHC decision to the healthcare workers, and according
to knowledgeable sources, the surprising decision was passed on in a “disrespectful, derogatory
and highly unprofessional,” manner.

The empty emergency area

“Is this the way you treat your frontline healthcare workers who have over the year been risking
their health and safety of themselves and families to save and help the public?” a nurse asked.
Another said: “I have been here for more than a decade and never have I seen something as
brutal as this. How can you call us heroes but treat us as garbage? Is this the way that you treat
your heroes?” she asked rhetorically.
She continued, “As a nurse I have always executed my duties with the highest level of
professionalism and care because I took my oath and I am very committed to my duty. However,
despite all of this, I think that I must maintain my right to choose what I put into my body and
today we are seeing where even the healthcare professionals are being denied that simple right.
This is not what many expected of the government.”
Senior hospitals officials were ensnared in the LHC’s surprising move, including its Matron, Ms.
Annette Jones and Sister Donette Gullin, staunch supporters of controversial CEO Rudy Small, who was
caught in a taped interview vilifying LHC nurses.
In it he accusing them of abandoning their night duties for trysts with their lovers, some of which
were extra-marital.

The Nurses station within the Emergency Room left empty

Small’s comments created a maelstrom of protests by the nurses and Annette Jones and Donette Gullin were
instrumental in ending the weeks-long protests, describing Small as a ‘blessing to LHC’.
Sources disclosed both women refused the COVID jab complaining that they have medical
complications which will put them at a disadvantage. However, multiple sources confirmed CEO
Small denied both women the medical exemptions they sought, reiterating every LHC employee
must take their vaccines.
Many nurses who worked the night shift Monday are also unvaccinated
Several LHC sources told www.aroundtheregions.com that the emergency and other
departments, including the foot centre, were abandoned, while other departments had only one or
two nurses the most.
“What I am afraid of is if there is a real emergency, we will be in a jam as there is only one other
nurse that is here with me at the hospital in my department. I took my vaccine but I think that the
administration should have found different ways in dealing with this issue,” a nurse explained.
She defends the rights of her colleagues to make independent decisions without vengeful
retaliation.
“I think that everybody should maintain her/his right to decide whether s/he wants to be
vaccinated or not. This mandatory vaccination is what is creating the challenges for many and I
can tell you that people will never forget and/or forgive the PPP for this vaccination campaign as
they have shown that they don’t give a damn about people’s views,” the nurse said.
It was later revealed that several of the nurses affected by today’s lock out took their first jab.
However, several others remain defiant maintaining that their rights and decision must be
respected.
This group has no intention of taking the vaccine, especially under duress.
