The former Manager of the Watooka Guest house, Linden Murray, lost his son in a late-night
accident. The former Manager who was managing the Skeldon Heritage Hotel was asked to
manage the Watooka Guest House after the Guest House was not turning over profitable figures.
Shortly after being entrusted with the management of the Guest House several employees praised
his innovative and creative style of management.
www.aroundtheregions.com learnt that the 38-year-old man of Number 43 Village, Corentyne,
Berbice is now dead after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a parked truck.
The accident occurred at around 22:10hrs on Tuesday along the Number 47 Public Road,
Corentyne.
Sherwin Murray who is the eldest son of Linden Murray was proceeding north on the western
carriageway, reportedly at a fast rate of speed, when he lost control of his motorcycle and
collided with the front of the motor lorry that was parked on the western parapet.
As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist sustained injuries to his head and other parts of his
body.
He was taken to Skeldon Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Many former colleagues of the elder Murray expressed condolences and shock at the untimely
passing of Sherwin.
Among those who expressed condolences publicly to the Murray’s family was the former acting
CEO of NICIL/SPU, Colvin Heath-London and President of the Berbice Cricket Board Hilbert
Foster. The young man was a prominent cricketer in the Upper Corentyne Cricket Team.
