Documents for several projects ‘mysteriously’ disappears as auditors visits region

Documents for the rehabilitation of the Linden Dorfolk Home is one of several missing.

As a number of auditors have begun combing through several documents at the Regional
Democratic Council (RDC) Region 10, several critically important projects have mysteriously
disappeared.
This disclosure was made by some key personnel involved in the audit process taking place at
the RDC. Speaking to www.aroundtheregions.com on the condition of anonymity said that the
unexplained disappearance of the documents has not only raised eyebrows, but also serious
questions as to the operation of the RDC.
Among some of the projects that documentation cannot be found for includes the installation of
the West Watooka culvert and the rehabilitation work for the Linden Dorfolk Home. Ironically,
the rehabilitation of the Linden Dorfolk Home was only done recently, and it was expected to be
used as a quarantine centre for COVID related patients. “This is highly unacceptable because at
least the Dorfolk Home was just the other day, and I believe that the government has to get really
serious with the people here, because it seems as though some persons are determined to do their
own thing,” an employee within the region said.
A source close to the auditors admitted that the disappearance of the documents may be an
attempt to cover what was done, noting that it obviosity smack of corruption. “If everything was
done above board then how could these documents just disappeared as it simply mean that
something isn’t adding up and its sad that the monies that are coming to enhance the lives of
residents in Region Ten are made to suffer because of the greed and dishonesty that exists,” the
source said.
The source further revealed that the auditors are at loss to find several of these documents with
many expressing the view that it is a clear indication that something is amiss within the region. It
was also disclosed that monies were spent lavishly on several things with officials in the region
using COVID as a n excuse.
“Somebody should be made to answer for the millions that is missing. Sadly the health workers
and health care professionals were protesting, because they were without important equipment
but yet millions were spent and cannot be accounted for other projects including the Linden
Dorfolk Home cannot be properly accounted for, because the contract cannot be found,” an
employee of the RDC confirmed.
Only recently the Auditors General Report had revealed several glaring discrepancies and had
noted that several contractors were overpaid, while there were cases where the region flouted
several financial and operational regulations. The report, which was released recently is expected
to see the former and aching REO Orrin Gordon and Dolette Powers facing the Public Accounts
Committee (PAC) to answer several burning questions regarding how the government monies to
the region was dispersed.
www.aroundtheregions.com reached out to several employees on the revelations being disclosed
recently and many said that they were disappointed to know that the people of the region
continue to suffer by persons who are seeking to enrich themselves. An employee asked, “I don’t

understand because many of these workers do not earn large salaries, but yet they are living a
lavish lifestyle and for this they should be made to answer for these kinds of lifestyles. It is
important because only a fool wouldn’t recognize that something is fishy about these
operations.”
The employee expressed the opinion that the police should be called in immediately to
thoroughly investigate along with the auditors as somebody or persons are seeking to cover their
tracks.
