Newly promoted Confidential Secretary to the REO, Althea Jones

The Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Ten through its Regional Executive Officer
(REO), Dwight John have appointed a Confidential Secretary.

He said that after the former Confidential Secretary, Lanna Albert who had earlier in the year
been appointed as one of the two Assistant Regional Executive Officers (AREO) was removed
from his office, the need to secure a confidential secretary had arisen.
“When I took over the role as REO, I opted to not allow her (Albert) to continue performing the
role of Confidential Secretary to me. Rather I wanted her to do her work as AREO and I stopped
her from performing the duties as my Confidential Secretary,” John reiterated.
He disclosed that after reviewing the work being done thus far by Althea Jones, who worked in
the REO’s office as a typist clerk, he felt that with her years of experience working in the very
office that she possess the skills and requisite experience to effectively serve as his confidential
secretary.
“While I was looking for a confidential Secretary, I recognized that the level of efficiency and
effectiveness being executed by Althea Jones was of a high standard. Therefore, instead of
seeking someone from outside, I recognized that the office has someone who in my judgement
can do the work professionally and properly, so I opted to promote her as my confidential
secretary,” he stated.
REO John stressed that Jones’s appointment took effect from November 1, 2020. Asked if he is
satisfied with her standard and quality of work, the REO said, “Thus far I am satisfied as she has
been working with me on weekends and late into the nights as we seek to execute the work load
that I came and met and what has been growing, since I came to the region. I firmly believe that
she will continue to do an excellent job as my confidential secretary.”
