After months of infighting, political rift and uncertainty, Kittitians and Nevisians will go to the polls on August 5th, with nomination day set for July 26th.
Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris confirmed rumours that elections were going to be held soon.
At a campaign rally on Sunday evening in Constituency Seven, Dr. Harris confirmed that he advised the Governor General of his decision early last week.
As is customary, it is expected to be early voting for law enforcement officials
At the last elections Prime Minister Harris had a coalition ticket which included the People’s Action Movement (PAM) and the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM), thus running as Team Unity. However, with the spilt of the grouping, the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party under the leadership of Dr. Terrance Drew is tipped to return to office after being booted some years ago.
The announcement of the election date will now see a number of individuals throwing their hats into the ring to be elected as Constituency Representatives.
