Grenadians will go to the polls on June 23 after Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell confirmed rumours that elections were going to be held soon.
At a campaign rally on Saturday evening, Dr. Mitchell revealed that the General Elections will be held on June 23rd, with nomination day set for Tuesday, May 17th.
The long serving Prime Minister also announced that he has advised the Governor-General to dissolve the National Assembly on Monday, May 16th and provide the Writ for Tuesday. As is customary, there will be early voting for law enforcement officials and that will take place on June. 20th.
Dr. Mitchell had, over the last several days, hinted that he will make the announcement of the elections date at today’s rally. PM Mitchell also used Saturday’s evening campaign stop to announce two new candidates to his slate.
