All eyes on Guyana at Dubai Expo 2020

A GO-Invest officer showcases Guyana’s opportunities to a participant

THE GLOBAL EYES ARE FIXED ON INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE
IN GUYANA at this year’s ‘Expo 2020 Dubai’ according to Guyana Office for Investment
(GO-INVEST).
Guyana is a first-time participant at the Dubai exhibition, and is showcasing the key pillars of the
local economy including its manufacturing sector and the country’s eco-tourism product, which
has captured international attention recently.
The Guyana Office for Investment noted that the country’s forestry sector is also a huge hit at the
‘Expo 2020 Dubai’ arousing interest in potential investors with its display of the wide array of
timber available in this South American nation.

A release from GO-Invest said Guyana is also parading its nascent and lucrative oil and gas
(O&G) sector, renewable energy, agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT),
as well investment opportunities in infrastructure and the booming housing drive.
The Guyanese booth at the Middle East exhibition also highlights exhibits depicting the Amalia
Falls Hydropower Project; the renewable energy mix of natural gas, solar and wind power; and
infrastructure and agriculture farms. GO-Invest said the exhibits provide “an unrivalled
opportunity to showcase Guyana as an investment and tourism paradise.”
Dr. Peter Ramsaroop, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Go-Invest, said Guyana continues to
display itself on the world stage “as a major investment destination.” Ramsaroop said Guyana
historic participation at this year’s EXPO is indicative of President Irfaan Ali’s vision for the
country’s development.
Guyana is one of 192 exhibitors at the stunning Dubai South site and features up to 60 live
events daily and 200 food and beverage outlets to fuel visitors during their journey around the
world in one place. ‘Guyana Day’ at the exhibition is scheduled for October 19, and President

Ali and his Cabinet members, along with Dr. Ramsaroop will show-up to boost the country’s
presence at the 173-day event.
Presently GO- Invest senior staff, Mrs. Kibbyann Chester-Harding, and Ms. June-Ann Kowlessar
are actively engaging and interacting with investors and interested visitors educating and luring
them to plug their monies into Guyana.
Guyana’s pavilion at the Dubai affair is a consortium venture launched among GO-invest, the
Tourism, Industry and Commerce, and the Culture, Youth and Sport ministries under the theme,
‘Home of Nature, Land of Opportunities’.
