Thousands more to benefit from governments cash grant scheme

Pupils of the Enmore Hope Secondary School presented an acrostic piece today using the words ‘Cash Grant’

Education Minister Priya Manickchand said thousands of additional students will benefit from
the government’s multi-billion-dollar ‘Because We Care’ cash grant following the extension of
the deadline for registration by an additional month.
Originally, parents of children entering the public school system for the first time, were required
to register the new entrants by the June 30 deadline. But this was extended to July 31.
Consequently, some 3,300 additional students will receive the $19,000 per child cash grant out
of the US$16M (G$3.2B) facility.
