POLICE FRIDAY EXHUMED THE PARTLY-DECOMPOSED BODY of 20-year-old
bartender Ms. Shonnette Dover from a shallow grave in her yard following a missing person’s
report almost a month ago.
Ranks swooped down early Friday morning on her Canvas City, Wismar, Linden residence and
dug up her partly-decomposed remains from a shallow grave aback her residence.
She was believed shot dead.
Ranks are looking for her boyfriend Mr. Shaquawn Alleyne who, it was claimed, was oiling his
‘brownish gun’ at the time the late teenager met her death.
The young lady was among a disturbing growing list of mainly young Guyanese reported
missing this year. Ms. Dover mysteriously disappeared on April 03, this year.
www.ariundtheregions.com learnt via a police Press Release that the woman’s partially
decomposed body was found in her yard at Canvas City. The police are working on the theory
that Dover was apparently buried after she was shot dead.
The police presser disclosed that on the night the victim went ‘missing’, her boyfriend was
allegedly oiling ‘his brownish gun’. It noted that he pointed the gun at the victim who told him
‘he like play and he should put away that thing.’
The gun reportedly went off and a bullet struck Dover, killing her. Alleyne disappeared after her
death and is now a person of interest to investigators. Police have issued a wanted bulletin his
arrest.
Dover’s body is currently at the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) mortuary where a post mortem
examination will be done. The police revealed that two persons are currently in custody assisting
with investigations.
Ranks dug up the body from a four-feet shallow grave in the wee hours of Friday. The
investigators said it was difficult seeing any marks of violence on the most exposed parts of her
remains according to the news release.
The police are appealing to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Alleyne
and are asked to contact them on telephone numbers 444 3406, 444 3297, 444 3351, 444
