Healthcare workers are satisfied with His Excellency, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali’s recent announcement of a two-week bonus in December.
On Thursday, at ceremony to commence the retrofitting of the Leonora Diagnostic Hospital on the West Coast Demerara into a Smart hospital, President Ali announced all healthcare professionals will be given a two-week bonus in December.
Following this, the Department of Public Information spoke with several healthcare workers who expressed their gratitude to the Government for recognising their hard work.
During his COVID-19 update on Friday, Minister of Health, Hon. Dr. Frank Anthony said the bonus for healthcare workers is well deserved.
“As you know, they’ve been working very hard during this pandemic. This extra two weeks’ pay is going to help and I think everyone that I’ve spoken to so far is complementing the Government.”
He said the administrative measures will be put in place to ensure that the people benefit. The Minister also gave assurances that the Government is working to ensure that all clinical as well as auxiliary staff receive their bonuses.
