WITU makes history at CBA

Philipsburg — President of the Windward Islands Teachers Union (WITU) Stuart Johnson
recently met with the staff of the Charlotte Brookson Academy (CBA).
Johnson was accompanied by WITU Treasurer Robert Rawlins and WITU Board Member Silvy
Ravenberg.
"I'm proud of this historical moment by you joining WITU but I wish it was under more positive
work conditions for you,," Johnson stated.
It's the first time staff of CBA joined the membership of WITU starting with eight new members
strong.
The staff outlined a list of concerns facing them as they sought this important meeting with the
WITU.
"Let me assure you I am here with you every step of the way, and it is time your hard work is
properly valued," Johnson told the staff.
WITU has already submitted a request to convene a meeting with the Board of CBA at the
soonest opportunity.
"CBA has the potential to be an exceptional performing arts school for our country but it's full
potential remains untapped," Johnson said.
"There must be a vision forward for CBA and the cries of the staff cannot be ignored anymore. It
is by having a conducive environment for both staff and students that will stimulate the type of
quality education our country desperately needs for our students," Johnson concluded.
